1954

UP ACES was founded by Claudio Altura, Reynaldo Alberto, Bernardo Armeña and Ramon Arroyo

1957

UP ACES gained official recognition

1969

UP ACES launched the maiden issue of the BEAM, a monthly publication exhibiting the literary and journalistic talents of its members

1970

UP ACES was cited as the “Most Outstanding Student Organization” in the College of Engineering by the Engineering Student Council

1971

UP ACES sponsored the first National Convention of Civil Engineering Students

1980s

UP ACES started to organize the Civil Engineering Quiz, a Metro Manila-wide quiz show

1995

The Civil Engineering Quiz evolved to be a nation-wide competition and is now known among civil engineering schools as the National Civil Engineering Quiz

2003

UP ACES joined the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers

2006

UP ACES became one of the founding organizations of the Alliance of Young Civil Engineers in Metro Manila

UP ACES upgraded the National Civil Engineering Quiz and integrated it into a week-long event, the Civil Engineering Summit

2007

Civil Engineering Summit gained its National status

2009

Stick-wit-u, a bridge building competition was first opened to high school students in Metro Manila. It was eventually rebranded to what we know now as InCEthink and was then embedded to the week-long celebration of the National Civil Engineering Summit.

2014

UP ACES’ 60th (Diamond) Anniversary

2016

UP ACES resident members, together with its alumni, were able to raise Php 12,410,000 for the refurbishment of the UP Institute of Civil Engineering (UP ICE) Office and Classroom Wing (OCW) through the EDIFICE Project.
